Marsala wine

Marsala

A fortified wine from western Sicily, produced in dry to sweet styles using Grillo, Catarratto, and Inzolia grapes. Aged using a solera-like system, it develops complex flavors of dried fruit, caramel, vanilla, and roasted nuts. Famous in cooking but superb as a sipping wine.
