Ingredients

Original recipe serves 2

Aloe vera gel
1/2 cup, fresh from the plant or store-bought
Lemon juice
2 tablespoons, freshly squeezed
Honey
1-2 tablespoons, to taste
Water
2 cups, cold
Ice cubes
optional, for serving
Mint leaves
for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using fresh aloe vera, carefully cut an aloe leaf from the plant, wash it, and scoop out the gel using a spoon, discarding the skin.
  2. In a blender, combine the aloe vera gel, freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, and cold water.
  3. Blend on high speed until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more honey if desired.
  4. For a chilled experience, add ice cubes to the blender and blend again until the ice is crushed and the drink is frothy.
  5. Pour the aloe vera drink into glasses, garnish with mint leaves if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy this refreshing drink chilled!
