
Banana Caramel Cake
This moist and flavorful banana caramel cake is a perfect combination of sweet bananas and rich caramel.
Ingredients
- Banana slices (for garnish)
- Whipped cream (for serving)
- Caramel sauce (1 cup)
- Buttermilk (1/2 cup)
- Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
- Eggs (2)
- Granulated sugar (1 cup)
- Unsalted butter (1/2 cup, softened)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- Baking soda (1/2 teaspoon)
- Baking powder (1 teaspoon)
- All (purpose flour - 2 cups)
- Ripe bananas (3, mashed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
- Add the remaining batter on top and drizzle the remaining caramel sauce over it.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost the cake with whipped cream and garnish with banana slices.
