
Beef Korma
Beef korma is a flavorful and aromatic Indian curry made with tender beef, yogurt, and a blend of spices.
Ingredients
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
- Vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)
- Salt (to taste)
- Red chili powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
- Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Garam masala (1 teaspoon)
- Cashew nuts (1/4 cup, soaked)
- Tomato (2 medium, chopped)
- Yogurt (1/2 cup)
- Ginger (1-inch piece, grated)
- Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
- Onion (1 large, finely chopped)
- Beef (500 grams, cubed)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another minute.
- In a blender, blend the soaked cashew nuts with a little water to make a smooth paste.
- Add the beef cubes to the pan and cook until browned on all sides.
- Add the tomato, cashew paste, yogurt, and all the spices (garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt). Mix well.
- Cover the pan and let the beef cook in the spices for about 45 minutes, or until tender.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
