Instructions
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Whisk all the ingredients together until they are fully combined and you have a smooth, viscous marinade. This should take about 2 minutes.
- Pour the marinade over your chosen meat, making sure it is fully coated. Use a basting brush if necessary to distribute the marinade evenly.
- Cover the marinated meat and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. For best results, marinate it overnight to let the flavors penetrate deeply into the meat.
- After marinating, cook your meat as desired. The remaining marinade can be used as a basting sauce while cooking, just be sure to boil it first to kill any bacteria from the raw meat.
Tips
- For a spicier kick, consider adding a teaspoon of finely chopped fresh chili or a dash of chili flakes to the marinade.
- For a vegan alternative, try this marinade on tofu or tempeh. Just be sure to press the tofu first to remove excess water and allow better absorption of the marinade.
