Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Ground beef
1 pound (80/20 blend for juiciness)
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Mixed herbs
2 tablespoons, finely chopped (parsley, thyme, rosemary)
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Burger buns
4
Mayonnaise
1/4 cup
Lettuce
4 leaves
Tomato
1, sliced
Onion
1, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, chopped mixed herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (130°F for medium-rare, 160°F for medium).
  5. While the burgers are cooking, toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with a pinch of salt and pepper, and set aside.
  7. Once the burgers are done, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Spread a generous amount of the seasoned mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, and onion slices.
  9. Place the cooked patties on top, then cover with the other half of the bun.
  10. Serve the burgers hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.

Tips

  • 💡 For extra flavor, try adding a slice of cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking.
  • 💡 Experiment with different toppings like avocado, pickles, or spicy mustard to customize your burger.
  • 💡 If you're feeling adventurous, mix in some crumbled feta or blue cheese into the beef mixture for a gourmet twist.
