Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Octopus
1 large, cleaned
Olive oil
1/4 cup
Lemon juice
3 tablespoons
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Paprika
1/2 teaspoon
Fresh parsley
1/4 cup, chopped

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Gently add the octopus and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for 30-40 minutes until the octopus is tender to the fork. The cooking time will depend on the size of the octopus.
  2. Remove the octopus and let it cool for a few minutes. Once manageable, cut the tentacles into individual pieces.
  3. Prepare the marinade by combining olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika in a bowl. Mix well.
  4. Add the octopus pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated octopus pieces for 3-4 minutes per side until they have a nice char and are slightly crispy.
  6. Remove the octopus from the grill. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy this Mediterranean delicacy as a standalone main or a unique appetizer.

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a splash of white wine to the boiling water. Also, marinating the octopus for longer, up to 24 hours, will deepen the flavors.
