Original recipe serves 2

Ramen noodles
2 servings, cooked and chilled
Sesame oil
2 tablespoons
Sugar
1 tablespoon
Rice vinegar
2 tablespoons
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Sesame seeds
2 tablespoons, toasted
Green onions
2, thinly sliced
Tomato
1, diced
Ham
4 ounces, thinly sliced
Egg
2, boiled and sliced
Carrot
1, julienned
Cucumber
1, julienned

Instructions

  1. Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process and cool them down.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil until the sugar is dissolved. This will be your tangy sesame dressing.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the chilled ramen noodles, julienned cucumber, carrot, diced tomato, sliced ham, and sliced boiled eggs.
  4. Pour the sesame dressing over the noodle mixture and toss gently to ensure everything is well-coated.
  5. Divide the Hiyashi Chuka into serving bowls and garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
  6. Serve immediately, or chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes before serving for an extra refreshing dish.
