Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Ground lamb
1 pound
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Cumin
1 teaspoon
Coriander
1 teaspoon
Paprika
1 teaspoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Lettuce
4 leaves
Tomato
1, sliced
Hamburger buns
4, toasted
Cucumber
1, grated
Plain yogurt
1 cup
Fresh mint
2 tablespoons, chopped
Lemon juice
1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4-inch thick.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (145°F for medium-rare).
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cucumber yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix the grated cucumber with yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped mint. Stir until well combined and season with a pinch of salt to taste.
  5. To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a lamb patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of cucumber yogurt sauce. Finally, cover with the top half of the bun.
  6. Serve the burgers immediately, accompanied by extra cucumber yogurt sauce on the side for dipping.

Tips

  • 💡 Feel free to add your favorite toppings, such as feta cheese or pickled red onions, for an extra burst of flavor.
  • 💡 For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the lamb mixture.
  • 💡 These burgers can also be cooked in a skillet or oven if grilling isn’t an option.
