Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Ground lamb (1 pound)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Cumin (1 teaspoon)
- Coriander (1 teaspoon)
- Paprika (1 teaspoon)
- Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Lettuce (4 leaves)
- Tomato (1, sliced)
- Hamburger buns (4, toasted)
- Cucumber (1, grated)
- Plain yogurt (1 cup)
- Fresh mint (2 tablespoons, chopped)
- Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4-inch thick.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (145°F for medium-rare).
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the cucumber yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix the grated cucumber with yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped mint. Stir until well combined and season with a pinch of salt to taste.
- To assemble the burgers, place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a lamb patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous dollop of cucumber yogurt sauce. Finally, cover with the top half of the bun.
- Serve the burgers immediately, accompanied by extra cucumber yogurt sauce on the side for dipping.
