
Onion and Fennel Pizza
This delicious pizza is topped with caramelized onions, sliced fennel, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients
- Fresh basil (handful, chopped)
- Parmesan cheese (1/4 cup, grated)
- Mozzarella cheese (1 cup, shredded)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fennel bulb (1 small, thinly sliced)
- Onion (1 large, thinly sliced)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Pizza dough (1 pound)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and fennel, and cook until caramelized and softened, about 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the caramelized onion and fennel mixture evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil.
- Slice and serve hot.
