Peach Water

Experience the essence of summer with this delightful Peach Water! Bursting with the juicy flavors of fresh peaches and the cooling touch of mint, this refreshing beverage is perfect for quenching your thirst on hot days. Historically, infused waters have been enjoyed for centuries as a way to enhance hydration with the subtle flavors of fruits and herbs. This Peach Water is not just a drink; it's a celebration of summer's bounty, perfect for picnics, barbecues, or simply relaxing on the porch.

Serves 8

Ingredients

Fresh peaches
4, sliced
Fresh mint leaves
1/4 cup, plus extra for garnish
Ice cubes
as needed
Water
8 cups

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly wash the peaches and slice them into wedges. Peeling is optional, as the skin adds a lovely color and texture.
  2. In a large pitcher, add the sliced peaches and gently muddle them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their juices.
  3. Pour in the 8 cups of water, allowing the peach slices to infuse their flavor into the liquid.
  4. Add the fresh mint leaves, which will provide a refreshing aroma and taste. Gently stir to combine.
  5. Add ice cubes to the pitcher, or serve in individual glasses over ice.
  6. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 12 hours for a stronger flavor infusion.
  7. Before serving, stir the Peach Water again and taste. Adjust with more mint if desired. Serve cold, garnished with additional mint leaves.

Tips

  • 💡 For a twist, try adding slices of lemon or lime for a citrusy zing.
  • 💡 You can experiment with other fruits like strawberries or raspberries for a mixed fruit water.
  • 💡 If you're looking for a sweeter beverage, add a splash of honey or agave syrup to taste before refrigerating.
