Savory Salami and Pepperoni Pizza

Indulge in a slice of heaven with this Savory Salami and Pepperoni Pizza, where layers of spicy pepperoni and rich salami unite over a bed of gooey, melted mozzarella cheese. Topped with vibrant red onions, briny black olives, and fresh basil, this pizza is not just a meal; it's a celebration of flavors that takes you straight to the heart of Italy. Pizza has a rich history dating back to ancient times, but it was in Naples in the 18th century that it evolved into the beloved dish we know today. Perfect for gatherings, game nights, or a cozy dinner at home, this pizza will undoubtedly impress your family and friends.

Ingredients

Pizza dough
1 batch (store-bought or homemade)
Pizza sauce
1 cup
Shredded mozzarella cheese
2 cups
Salami
4 ounces, sliced
Pepperoni
4 ounces, sliced
Red onion
1/2, thinly sliced
Black olives
1/2 cup, sliced
Fresh basil
1/4 cup, chopped
Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Crushed red pepper flakes
to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness (thin crust or thick crust).
  3. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a greased baking sheet or a preheated pizza stone.
  4. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce.
  6. Layer the sliced salami and pepperoni evenly across the cheese.
  7. Add the thinly sliced red onion and black olives on top.
  8. Garnish with the chopped fresh basil and season with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to taste.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips

  • 💡 For a crispy crust, try baking the pizza directly on the pizza stone.
  • 💡 Experiment with additional toppings like bell peppers, mushrooms, or jalapeños for extra flavor.
  • 💡 If you prefer a spicy kick, add more crushed red pepper flakes or try a spicy pizza sauce.
