Spicy Chicken Tikka Masala

A popular Indian dish made with spicy marinated chicken cooked in a creamy tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Cream (1 cup)
  • Tomato sauce (2 cups)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Fresh ginger (1 tablespoon, grated)
  • Cayenne pepper (1 teaspoon)
  • Garam masala (2 teaspoons)
  • Turmeric powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
  • Yogurt (1 cup)
  • Boneless chicken (500 grams)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, lemon juice, turmeric, garam masala, cayenne pepper, ginger, and garlic. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the tomato sauce, cream, and salt. Simmer for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  4. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with basmati rice or naan bread.
