Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Sukuti (dried meat) (250 grams, soaked)
  • Cooking oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Onion (1 medium, finely chopped)
  • Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
  • Ginger (1-inch piece, grated)
  • Green chili (1, finely chopped)
  • Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Red chili powder (1 teaspoon (adjust to taste))
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
  • Fresh cilantro (2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish))

Instructions

  1. Soak the sukuti in warm water for 10 minutes to soften it. Drain the water and cut the sukuti into small, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown, which should take about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chili to the pan. Sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the sukuti pieces into the pan and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until they become crispy and well-coated with the onion mixture.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Add this spice mixture to the pan, stirring well to ensure the sukuti is evenly coated.
  6. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously to enhance the flavors.
  7. Remove from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the sukuti sadeko, mixing well to combine the flavors.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and serve hot as an appetizer or snack, ideally with a side of pickles or fresh salad.
