Bourbon Glazed Burger

Experience the mouthwatering delight of our Bourbon Glazed Burger—a juicy, flame-grilled patty enveloped in a luscious, sweet and smoky bourbon glaze. This burger is not just a meal; it's a celebration of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. Topped with rich, caramelized onions, crisp lettuce, and fresh tomato, each bite is a perfect balance of savory and sweet. The bourbon sauce adds a depth of flavor that harks back to Southern BBQ traditions, making this burger a standout at any cookout.

Ingredients

Ground beef
1 pound
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Burger buns
4, toasted
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Onions
2, sliced
Bourbon
1/4 cup
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Brown sugar
2 tablespoons
Tomato
1, sliced
Lettuce
4 leaves

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Gently mix and form into 4 equal patties, making a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (160°F for medium).
  3. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the bourbon glaze. In a small saucepan, combine the bourbon, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, and cook until the mixture reduces by half, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they turn golden brown and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Once the burgers are nearly done, brush each patty generously with the bourbon glaze and cook for an additional minute per side to allow the glaze to set.
  6. To assemble, place each burger on a toasted bun. Top with caramelized onions, lettuce, and fresh tomato slices. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tips

  • 💡 For added flavor, consider mixing some crumbled blue cheese or sharp cheddar into the ground beef before forming patties.
  • 💡 If you prefer a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the bourbon glaze.
  • 💡 Feel free to customize your toppings with pickles, avocado, or your favorite barbecue sauce.
