
Deep Dish Pizza
This delicious deep dish pizza is made with a thick and buttery crust, tangy tomato sauce, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients
- Parmesan cheese (1/4 cup, grated)
- Garlic powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Italian seasoning (1 teaspoon)
- Pepperoni (1 cup, sliced)
- Mozzarella cheese (2 cups, shredded)
- Tomato sauce (2 cups)
- Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
- Butter (1/2 cup, melted)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Sugar (1 teaspoon)
- Warm water (1 1/4 cups)
- Active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- All (purpose flour - 3 cups)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, warm water, sugar, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Punch down the dough and press it into a greased deep dish pizza pan, covering the bottom and sides.
- Brush the melted butter over the dough.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Top with sliced pepperoni and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
