Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups, grated
Salt

Black pepper
to taste
Fresh parsley
2 tablespoons, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain them well and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant but not browned, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  3. Gradually pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Allow the mixture to come to a simmer.
  4. Slowly add the grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet, stirring continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Season the Alfredo sauce with salt and pepper to taste. For a spicy kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  6. Add the cooked and drained fettuccine noodles to the skillet. Toss the noodles in the Alfredo sauce until they're fully coated.
  7. Let the pasta cook for an additional 2-3 minutes in the sauce until heated through.
  8. Transfer the pasta to serving plates. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
  9. Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy this taste of Roman culinary history.
