- Buttermilk (1 cup)
- Chicken breasts (2)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour.
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken breasts from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off.
- Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour mixture, coating them evenly.
- Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot oil and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer the cooked chicken breasts to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Toast the buns in a toaster or on a grill.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, then layer with lettuce, tomato slices, fried chicken breast, and pickles.
- Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.
