Ingredients
- Tomato (1, sliced)
- Lettuce (4 leaves)
- Mayonnaise (1/4 cup)
- Pickles (8 slices)
- Buns (4)
- Vegetable oil (2 cups)
- Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Garlic powder (1 teaspoon)
- Cayenne pepper (1 teaspoon)
- Paprika (1 tablespoon)
- Cornstarch (1/4 cup)
- All (purpose flour - 1 cup)
- Hot sauce (1/4 cup)
- Buttermilk (1 cup)
- Chicken breasts (4 boneless, skinless)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Toast buns in a toaster or on a grill until lightly browned.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a fried chicken breast.
- Add pickles, lettuce, and tomato slices on top of the chicken.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve hot.
