Serves 2

Ingredients

Salt
to taste
Black pepper
to taste
Cheddar cheese
4 slices
Bread
4 slices
Unsalted Butter
2 tablespoons
Truffle oil
2 teaspoons
Mushrooms
1 cup, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté them until they turn a golden brown and tender, usually taking about 5-7 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. After sauteing, remove the mushrooms from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Spread a generous amount of butter on one side of each bread slice.
  4. Lay two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
  5. On each slice, layer with two slices of cheddar cheese, followed by the sautéed mushrooms, and a drizzle of truffle oil.
  6. Complete the sandwiches with the remaining bread slices, placing the buttered side up.
  7. Reheat the skillet or a griddle over medium heat.
  8. Cook the sandwiches until the bread turns a golden brown and the cheese has melted. This should take about 3-4 minutes per side.
  9. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
  10. Finally, slice the sandwiches in half and serve warm. Enjoy the melty, earthy goodness!

Tips

  • 💡 To make the sandwiches even more flavorful, you can use a combination of different cheeses.
  • 💡 If you don't have truffle oil, you can use olive oil infused with garlic for a different flavor profile.
