
Indian Chicken Tikka Masala Curry
This flavorful Indian chicken tikka masala curry is made with marinated chicken cooked in a creamy tomato-based sauce.
Ingredients
- Fresh cilantro (2 tablespoons, chopped)
- Heavy cream (1/2 cup)
- Tomato (2 medium, pureed)
- Onion (1 large, finely chopped)
- Vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)
- Salt (to taste)
- Red chili powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
- Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder (1 teaspoon)
- Garam masala (1 tablespoon)
- Ginger (garlic paste - 2 tablespoons)
- Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
- Yogurt (1/2 cup)
- Chicken breast (500 grams, boneless and skinless)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them evenly. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for better flavor.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the pureed tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the marinated chicken along with the marinade to the pan. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Pour in the heavy cream and simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
