Indian Chicken Tikka

Chicken tikka is a popular Indian dish made with marinated chicken pieces cooked in a tandoor or oven.

Ingredients

  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh coriander (for garnish)
  • Vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Garam masala (1 teaspoon)
  • Paprika (1 teaspoon)
  • Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Turmeric powder (1 teaspoon)
  • Ginger (garlic paste - 2 tablespoons)
  • Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
  • Yogurt (1/2 cup)
  • Chicken breast (500 grams, boneless and skinless)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika, garam masala, and salt to make the marinade.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers and place them on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil.
  5. Brush the chicken with vegetable oil to prevent drying.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with lemon wedges.
