Ingredients

  • Fresh thyme (2 sprigs)
  • Butter (2 tablespoons)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Black pepper (to taste)

  • Kobe beef steak (2 (8 oz) steaks)

Instructions

  1. Remove the Kobe beef steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
  4. Add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, until a crust forms.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic, butter, and thyme to the skillet.
