- Onion (1, finely chopped)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Ginger (1 inch piece, grated)
- Green chili (1, finely chopped)
- Fresh cilantro (1/4 cup, finely chopped)
- Bread crumbs (1/2 cup)
- Coriander powder (1 teaspoon)
- Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Red chili powder (1 teaspoon)
- Salt (to taste)
- Oil (for frying)
- Tomatoes (2, pureed)
- Yogurt (1/2 cup)
- Heavy cream (1/2 cup)
- Garam masala (1 teaspoon)
- Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green chili, chopped cilantro, bread crumbs, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small, evenly-sized meatballs. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook until they are browned on all sides. Remove meatballs from the pan and set them aside.
- In the same pan, add the pureed tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes until the raw smell of tomatoes disappears.
- Add the yogurt and mix well. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle the garam masala. Stir until all the ingredients are well combined.
- Return the meatballs to the pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the gravy has thickened.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot. This dish pairs excellently with rice or naan bread.
