Ingredients

Original recipe serves 8

Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Cloves
1/4 teaspoon, ground
Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon, ground
Ginger
1/2 teaspoon, ground
Brown sugar
1 cup
Apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup
Red onion
1 medium, finely chopped
Blueberries
2 cups, fresh
Peaches
4 large, pitted and chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, blueberries, finely chopped red onion, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir the ingredients together until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Once the mixture reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low. Allow the chutney to simmer for 20-25 minutes, making sure to stir occasionally. The chutney should thicken and the fruits should break down during this time.
  4. After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat. Let the chutney cool to room temperature.
  5. Serve the peach and blueberry chutney as a condiment with grilled meats, cheese platters, or as a topping for toast or crackers. It can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
