Ingredients

Original recipe serves 8

Pie crust
1 (9-inch) crust
Eggs
3 large
Granulated sugar
1 cup
Light corn syrup
1 cup
Unsalted butter
2 tablespoons, melted
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Salt
1/4 teaspoon
Pecans
1 1/2 cups, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Gently press it into the dish and crimp the edges for a decorative finish.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the eggs, granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk the mixture until it's smooth and well incorporated.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans, ensuring they're evenly distributed in the mixture.
  5. Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust. Try to spread the pecans evenly across the pie.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is a beautiful golden brown. If the edges of the crust start to brown too quickly, cover them with aluminum foil.
  7. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack completely before slicing. This allows the filling to set properly.

Tips

  • 💡 For a fun twist, try adding a handful of chocolate chips to the filling. Alternatively, a splash of bourbon or rum can give the pie an extra layer of flavor.
