Ingredients

Crusty rolls

Provolone cheese
8 slices
Salt and pepper

Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Green bell pepper
1, thinly sliced
Onion
1 large, thinly sliced
Ribeye steak
1 lb, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the thinly sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Sauté until they are soft and caramelized, which should take about 8-10 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced steak. Cook until it is browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Season the steak with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Return the sautéed onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Mix them well with the steak.
  5. Arrange the provolone cheese slices on top of the steak and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.
  6. In the meantime, slice the crusty rolls in half and lightly toast them.
  7. Divide the steak mixture evenly among the toasted rolls. Use a spatula to transfer the mixture.
