Cheddar cheese
1 cup, shredded
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Onion
1 small, diced
Sausage (breakfast sausage or Italian sausage)
1 pound, casings removed
Hash browns (frozen or fresh)
3 cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the hashbrowns to the skillet, pressing them down into an even layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown on the bottom.
  5. Using a spatula, create a well in the center of the hashbrowns. Add the cooked sausage into the well and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving. Enjoy your hearty breakfast!
