Instructions
- Start by boiling the quail eggs for approximately 5 minutes, then carefully peel them and set aside.
- In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, sautéing them until they become fragrant and the onions turn translucent.
- Add the ground pork to the pan, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until it is thoroughly browned and no pink remains.
- Add the diced carrots, potatoes, and green peas to the pan. Stir well to combine and cook for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables start to soften.
- Pour the chicken broth into the pan, mixing it with the pork and vegetables. Let it simmer until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the evaporated milk and the grated cheese, continuing to stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce has thickened.
- Gently add the boiled quail eggs to the pan, stirring them in carefully to avoid breaking. Season the dish with salt and pepper, and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Serve your Sipo Egg hot, garnishing with a little extra grated cheese or fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy this delightful medley of flavors!
Tips
- For a vegetarian version, you can substitute the ground pork with tofu or a meat substitute. Feel free to add any other vegetables of your choice. You can also replace quail eggs with regular eggs, just adjust the cooking time accordingly.
