Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Chicken drumsticks (2 pounds)
  • Plain yogurt (1 cup)
  • Lemon juice (2 tablespoons)
  • Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
  • Fresh ginger (1 tablespoon, grated)
  • Tandoori masala (2 tablespoons)
  • Paprika (1 tablespoon)
  • Cumin (1 teaspoon)
  • Coriander (1 teaspoon)
  • Turmeric (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Vegetable oil (for brushing)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, tandoori masala, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt until well combined to create a marinade.
  2. Add the chicken drumsticks to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove the chicken drumsticks from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off.
  5. Place the chicken drumsticks on the grill over direct heat. Grill for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F) and has a nice charred exterior.
  6. Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the chicken.
