Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, tandoori masala, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and salt until well combined to create a marinade.
- Add the chicken drumsticks to the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
- Remove the chicken drumsticks from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off.
- Place the chicken drumsticks on the grill over direct heat. Grill for about 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F) and has a nice charred exterior.
- Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the chicken.
Tips
- For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper or chili powder to the marinade.
- Serve with a side of mint yogurt sauce for dipping. To prepare, mix together 1 cup of yogurt, 1/4 cup of chopped fresh mint, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and salt to taste.
- These drumsticks can also be baked in the oven at 400°F for 35-40 minutes if you don't have a grill.
