Original recipe serves 6

Watermelon
4 cups, seedless and cubed
Fresh lemon juice
1 cup
Mint leaves
1 cup, loosely packed
Sugar
1/2 cup, or to taste
Water
2 cups
Ice cubes
as needed

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the cubed watermelon, fresh lemon juice, mint leaves, sugar, and water.
  2. Blend the mixture on high until it becomes smooth and the sugar completely dissolves.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining pulp and seeds.
  4. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Before serving, stir the lemonade well to ensure that the flavors are evenly distributed.
  6. Serve the Watermelon and Mint Lemonade over ice cubes in tall glasses.
