Ingredients

Original recipe serves 4

Cilantro
1/4 cup, finely chopped
Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Sugar
1 teaspoon
Rice vinegar
2 tablespoons
Chili oil
1/4 cup
Sesame oil
1 tablespoon
Soy sauce
2 tablespoons
Garlic
3 cloves, minced
Ginger
1 tablespoon, grated
Green onions
3, finely chopped
Ground pork
1/2 pound
Wonton wrappers
1 package

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped green onions, grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Spoon a small amount of the pork mixture into the center of each wrapper. Fold each wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Then, bring the two corners of the triangle towards each other and press them together.
  3. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Cook the wontons in batches for about 5 minutes, or until they float to the surface. Use a slotted spoon to remove the cooked wontons and set them aside on a plate.
  4. Prepare the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the chili oil, rice vinegar, and sugar. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  5. Arrange the cooked wontons in a serving dish. Drizzle the chili oil sauce over the wontons, making sure they are well coated. Toss gently, if necessary.
  6. Garnish the wontons with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and freshly chopped cilantro. Serve immediately while hot, and enjoy the explosion of flavors!
