Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Black pepper (1 tablespoon)
- Salt (2 tablespoons)
- Paprika (2 tablespoons)
- Onion powder (1 tablespoon)
- Garlic powder (1 tablespoon)
- Brown sugar (1/4 cup)
- Apple cider vinegar (1/2 cup)
- BBQ sauce (2 cups)
- BBQ rub (1/4 cup)
- Pork ribs (2 racks)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to a medium heat, around 300°F (150°C).
- While the grill is heating, prepare the rub. In a small bowl, combine the BBQ rub, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Pat the ribs dry with a kitchen towel, then apply the rub mixture evenly over all sides of the ribs, rubbing it in for maximum flavor.
- Place the ribs bone-side down on the grill. Cover and cook for 2 hours, flipping every 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- While the ribs are grilling, prepare the BBQ sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce and apple cider vinegar. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is warm and slightly thickened.
- After 2 hours, brush the ribs generously with the BBQ sauce mixture. Continue cooking for another 1-2 hours, brushing with more sauce every 30 minutes, until the ribs are tender and the meat is starting to pull away from the bones.
- Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in moister ribs.
- Serve the Smoky BBQ Ribs with extra BBQ sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy with a side of coleslaw or cornbread for a complete southern-style meal.
