Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, cornstarch, beef broth, and minced garlic until smooth. This will be your stir fry marinade. Set aside.
- Combine the sliced flank steak with half of the marinade, allowing it to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat the avocado oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat until shimmering.
- Add the marinated flank steak to the skillet, spreading it out in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until browned, stirring occasionally. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Stir fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are crisp-tender and vibrant in color.
- Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Pour the remaining marinade mixture over the steak and vegetables.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened and the steak is cooked to your desired doneness.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the stir fry over steamed rice or noodles, and garnish with sliced green onions for a fresh touch.
Tips
- For added heat, include sliced jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
- Feel free to substitute the flank steak with chicken, shrimp, or tofu for a different protein option.
- You can also add other vegetables such as snap peas, broccoli, or carrots for extra nutrition and flavor.
