Servings: 4

Ingredients

Fresh basil leaves
a handful
Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup, finely grated
Mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 cups, shredded
Tomato sauce
2 cups
Olive oil
2 tablespoons
Breadcrumbs
1 1/2 cups
Eggs
2, beaten
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Salt and pepper
to taste
Chicken breasts
4 (boneless and skinless)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Season your chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken piece in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into beaten eggs, then coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken, cooking until it achieves a golden brown color on both sides. This should take approximately 5 minutes per side.
  4. In your prepared baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce. Place your cooked chicken on top, then cover with the remaining sauce.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbling, and the chicken is cooked through. To ensure the chicken is cooked, its internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
  7. Before serving, garnish with fresh basil leaves to add a pop of color and freshness. Enjoy your Chicken Parma with a side of pasta or a green salad for a complete meal.
