
Cinnamon Rolls
Deliciously sweet and fluffy cinnamon rolls topped with a creamy icing.
Ingredients
- Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
- Powdered sugar (1 cup)
- Cream cheese (4 ounces)
- Cinnamon (2 tablespoons)
- Brown sugar (1 cup)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- All (purpose flour - 4 cups)
- Eggs (2)
- Active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- Butter (1/4 cup)
- Granulated sugar (1/2 cup)
- Milk (1 cup)
Instructions
- Warm the milk, granulated sugar, and butter until the butter is melted. Let it cool until it reaches a lukewarm temperature, then add the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Add them to the milk mixture.
- Mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it's smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut it into 12 equal pieces. Place the pieces in a greased baking dish, cover them with a towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the cinnamon rolls at 350°F for 25 minutes, or until they're golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
- Spread the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
