
Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls
These delicious cinnamon rolls are filled with a sweet cream cheese filling and topped with a creamy frosting. Perfect for a special breakfast or brunch!
Ingredients
- Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
- Powdered sugar (2 cups)
- Cinnamon (1 tablespoon)
- Cream cheese (8 ounces, softened)
- Flour (4 1/2 cups)
- Salt (1 teaspoon)
- Eggs (2)
- Butter (1/2 cup, melted)
- Sugar (1/2 cup)
- Milk (1 cup, warm)
- Active dry yeast (1 packet)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Add the sugar, butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of the flour. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the softened cream cheese over the dough and sprinkle with the cinnamon.
- Roll up the dough tightly from the long side and cut into 12 slices. Place the slices in a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, mix together the powdered sugar, butter, and vanilla extract to make the frosting.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and let cool slightly before spreading with the frosting.
