Servings: 8

Ingredients

Water
1/4 cup
Cornstarch
2 tablespoons
Beef broth
2 cups
Butter
2 tablespoons
Allspice
1/2 teaspoon
Pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Salt
1 teaspoon
Egg
1, beaten
Milk
3/4 cup
Breadcrumbs
1 cup
Onion
1 medium, finely chopped
Ground beef
1 lb
Ground pork
1 lb

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, milk, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and allspice. Thoroughly mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the meatloaf is thoroughly cooked and the top is beautifully browned.
  5. While the meatloaf is baking, prepare the gravy. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  6. Add the beef broth to the melted butter and bring to a simmer.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth. Gradually add this mixture to the simmering broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.
  8. Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful meatloaf.
  9. Serve the sliced meatloaf draped in the homemade gravy. Enjoy this Danish delicacy with a side of mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
