Indulge in the ultimate gourmet hamburger, featuring a succulent beef patty infused with aromatic garlic and onion, topped with crisp lettuce and juicy tomato. This burger is elevated by a delectable homemade sauce that perfectly balances tangy, spicy, and creamy flavors. Gather around the grill for a delightful meal that pays homage to the beloved American classic, as hamburgers have been a staple of outdoor barbecues and family gatherings since the late 19th century.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

Ground beef
1 pound (80/20 blend for optimal juiciness)
Onion
1 small, finely chopped
Garlic
2 cloves, minced
Salt
1 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon
Lettuce
4 leaves, washed and dried
Tomato
1 large, sliced
Buns
4, toasted
Hot sauce
1 tablespoon (adjust to taste)
Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon
Ketchup
2 tablespoons
Mustard
1 tablespoon
Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center with your thumb to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5 minutes per side for medium doneness (adjust cooking time based on preferred doneness).
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the sauce by combining mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce in a small bowl. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  5. To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of the sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a cooked patty on top, followed by a slice of tomato and a leaf of lettuce. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as crispy fries or a fresh salad.
