
Homemade Apple Fritters
These homemade apple fritters are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and filled with delicious chunks of apple.
Ingredients
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Vegetable oil (2 cups, for frying)
- Vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)
- Egg (1)
- Milk (1/2 cup)
- Cinnamon (1/2 teaspoon)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
- Baking powder (1 teaspoon)
- Granulated sugar (1/4 cup)
- All (purpose flour - 1 cup)
- Apples (2 medium, peeled, cored, and diced)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or skillet to 375°F (190°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying 3-4 fritters at a time.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove the fritters from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Repeat with the remaining batter and apples.
- Dust the fritters with powdered sugar before serving.
