Enhanced Hot Buffalo Sauce

Ignite your taste buds with this zesty homemade hot buffalo sauce! Perfectly balanced with a fiery kick and rich buttery goodness, this sauce is a must-have for wing lovers and anyone looking to add a spicy punch to their meals. Originating from Buffalo, New York, in the 1960s, this sauce has become a staple in American cuisine, especially for game day gatherings. Use it to coat crispy chicken wings, drizzle over pizza, or as a vibrant dip for veggies. Get ready to bring the heat!

Serves 12 (about 2 tablespoons per serving)

Ingredients

Unsalted butter
1/2 cup
Hot sauce
1 cup (your favorite brand)
White vinegar
1/4 cup
Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon
Garlic powder
1 teaspoon
Onion powder
1 teaspoon
Cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
Salt
1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper
1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat, being careful not to let it brown.
  2. Once the butter has melted, add the hot sauce, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan.
  3. Whisk the mixture until all ingredients are well combined and the sauce is smooth.
  4. Continue to cook the sauce over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes.
  6. Carefully transfer the sauce to a jar or bottle using a funnel, if necessary, and refrigerate until ready to use.
  7. This hot buffalo sauce is perfect as a dip, marinade, or sauce for your favorite dishes. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Tips

  • 💡 For an extra kick, add more cayenne pepper or a splash of your favorite hot chili sauce.
  • 💡 If you prefer a milder sauce, reduce the amount of hot sauce or cayenne pepper.
  • 💡 Try adding a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup for a touch of sweetness that balances the heat.
