Chicken Jalfrezi
Chicken Jalfrezi is a vibrant and spicy Indian dish that brings together tender chicken, colorful bell peppers, and aromatic spices for a delightful explosion of flavors. Ingredients
- Cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons
- Onion
- 1 large, sliced
- Garlic
- 4 cloves, minced
- Ginger
- 1 inch, grated
- Green chilies
- 2, chopped (adjust to taste)
- Chicken breast
- 1 pound, cubed
- Bell peppers
- 2, sliced (any color)
- Tomatoes
- 2, chopped
- Turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Salt

- Garam masala
- 1 teaspoon
- Fresh coriander leaves
- for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and cook until they become golden brown, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cubed chicken breast to the pan and cook until it is no longer pink, stirring frequently.
- Incorporate the sliced bell peppers and chopped tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, allowing them to soften.
- Sprinkle in the turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the flavors meld together.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the garam masala and mix well to enhance the aroma.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
