Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the mixture is fragrant, usually taking about 3 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce and oyster sauce to the pot, followed by the chicken broth and water. Bring the liquid to a boil.
- Add the seafood mix, green onions, carrots, and cabbage to the pot. Allow the soup to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
- While the soup is simmering, cook the ramen noodles separately according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain the noodles and set them aside.
- To serve, divide the cooked noodles into individual serving bowls. Ladle the hot soup over the noodles, ensuring each bowl gets a generous portion of seafood and vegetables.
- Serve the Jjamppong hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired. Enjoy this flavorful and warming dish!
Tips
- You can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your preference for spice. For a vegetarian version, replace the chicken broth with vegetable broth and omit the seafood, adding tofu or more vegetables instead.
