Servings: 8
Ingredients
- Water (1/4 cup)
- Gochujang paste (1/2 cup)
- Soy sauce (1/4 cup)
- Honey (2 tablespoons)
- Rice vinegar (2 tablespoons)
- Sesame oil (1 tablespoon)
- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
- Ginger (1 tablespoon, grated)
- Chopped green onions (2 tablespoons, for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (1 tablespoon, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the gochujang paste, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, and water until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Add more honey for sweetness or more gochujang for additional heat, according to your preference.
- Transfer the sauce to a clean jar or airtight container. Allow it to sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld beautifully.
- For marinating, place your choice of meat (chicken, beef, or tofu) in a large resealable bag or bowl and pour in about half of the sauce. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for deeper flavor.
- When ready to grill, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill your marinated creations until cooked through, brushing with the reserved sauce during the last few minutes of cooking.
- To serve, drizzle the Gochujang BBQ Sauce over your grilled meats or vegetables and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
