
Lebanese Shish Tawook
Shish Tawook is a popular Lebanese grilled chicken dish marinated in a flavorful blend of spices and yogurt.
Ingredients
- Skewers (4-6)
- Cherry tomatoes (1 cup)
- Bell peppers (2, cut into chunks)
- Red onion (1, cut into chunks)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Turmeric (1/2 teaspoon)
- Coriander (1 teaspoon)
- Cumin (1 teaspoon)
- Paprika (1 teaspoon)
- Plain yogurt (1/2 cup)
- Olive oil (2 tablespoons)
- Lemon juice (1/4 cup)
- Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
- Boneless chicken breasts (1.5 lbs, cut into cubes)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, yogurt, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken cubes onto skewers, alternating with chunks of red onion, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes.
- Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the Lebanese Shish Tawook hot with rice, salad, and garlic sauce.
