Savory Mushroom and Chicken Burger

Ingredients
- Ground chicken
- 1 pound
- Mushrooms
- 1 cup, finely chopped
- Onion
- 1/2 cup, finely chopped
- Garlic
- 2 cloves, minced
- Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup
- Egg
- 1, beaten
- Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns
- 4, split
- Lettuce
- 4 leaves
- Tomato
- 1, sliced
- Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup
- Ketchup
- 1/4 cup
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped mushrooms, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Once hot, cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.
- Spread a layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a crisp lettuce leaf and a slice of fresh tomato.
- Place a cooked mushroom and chicken patty on top of the tomato, then drizzle ketchup over the top half of the bun.
- Assemble the burger by placing the top bun over the patty and serve hot alongside your favorite sides.
