Ingredients

  • Ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon, plus extra for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (4 tablespoons)
  • Brown sugar (2 tablespoons)
  • Cloves (4 whole)
  • Cinnamon stick (1)
  • Strong brewed coffee (2 cups)
  • Apple cider (2 cups)

Instructions

  1. Combine apple cider, cinnamon stick, cloves, and brown sugar in a small saucepan.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it reaches a simmer.
  3. Once it's simmering, reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to steep for 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  4. During this time, brew the strong coffee in another pot.
  5. After the cider mixture has steeped, remove it from the heat. Strain the mixture to remove the cloves and cinnamon stick.
  6. Pour the brewed coffee into two large mugs, filling each about halfway.
  7. Slowly pour the strained cider mixture over the coffee, filling the mugs to the top.
  8. Top each mug with 2 tablespoons of whipped cream, and sprinkle with additional ground cinnamon for garnish.
