Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Lightly brush each tuna steak on both sides with olive oil.
- Press each oiled tuna steak into the Parmesan mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly. Pat the mixture onto the steak to ensure it adheres well.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steaks. Sear each steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the crust becomes golden and crispy.
- Carefully transfer the seared tuna steaks to a baking sheet.
- Bake the tuna steaks in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the tuna steaks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, ensuring a moist and flavorful bite.
- Serve the Parmesan crusted tuna steaks hot. For a finishing touch, garnish with fresh herbs of your choice, if desired.
Tips
- For a gluten-free version, substitute bread crumbs with a gluten-free alternative. For extra flavor, try adding a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
