Spiced Hot Chocolate Milkshake

Indulge in the rich and velvety indulgence of a Spiced Hot Chocolate Milkshake. This luxury beverage is a heavenly fusion of classic hot chocolate, accentuated with a hint of warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. Every sip will transport you to a cozy winter's evening, wrapped in a blanket with the aroma of spices wafting through the air. This recipe, with its origins in traditional Mexican hot chocolate, has been passed down through generations and refined to perfection.

Serves 2

Ingredients

Milk
2 cups
Hot chocolate mix
2 packets
Cocoa powder
2 tablespoons
Sugar
2 tablespoons
Cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon
Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon
Whipped cream
to top
Chocolate shavings
to sprinkle

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot, but make sure it does not reach a boil.
  2. While the milk is heating, in a separate bowl, whisk together the hot chocolate mix, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  3. Once the milk is hot, slowly whisk in the dry mixture. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and the powders are well integrated into the milk.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the hot chocolate mixture into a blender. Blend on high speed for about 1 to 2 minutes, until the mixture is frothy and well blended.
  6. Pour the frothy hot chocolate milkshake into two large glasses.
  7. Top each milkshake with a generous amount of whipped cream. Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for an extra touch of indulgence.
  8. Serve the Spiced Hot Chocolate Milkshake immediately, preferably with a side of your favorite cookies, and savor the creamy, spicy goodness!

Tips

  • 💡 For a vegan option, substitute regular milk with almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk.
  • 💡 For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate shavings instead of regular ones.
  • 💡 For a festive touch, add a cinnamon stick to each glass before serving.
