Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes to create the marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well coated. Allow the beef to marinate for at least 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- In a separate bowl, create a slurry by combining the cornstarch with water. Mix until smooth. This will be used later to thicken our stir-fry sauce.
- Heat cooking oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the marinated beef, stir-frying until it is browned and cooked through, roughly 2-3 minutes. Once cooked, remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets, thinly sliced bell pepper, and julienned carrot. Stir fry these vegetables for around 3-4 minutes, until they are crisp-tender.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour in the cornstarch slurry, stir frying for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and beautifully coats the beef and vegetables.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish your stir fry with thinly sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve your Spicy Sesame Beef Stir Fry piping hot, paired with steamed rice or noodles for a fulfilling meal.
